We've had a couple of weeks of getting back to normal and catching up with friends in Melbourne and hence, time to reflect on the last 6.5 months of travel. Either out of politeness or genuine interest we keep getting asked the same questions, so here is a little FAQ for you.

What was your favourite country?
Zoe: My favourite country as a whole was Thailand. It was great to relax on the beach, plenty of culture to soak up as well as sun, the food was great and the prices were right. On the other hand the most interesting country was India. It really stretched my senses, and I would like to go back again. I really enjoyed the "differentness" and we saw elements of Indian Hindu culture influence all over South East Asia. India is an amazing country. South India is on the list for a future holiday.

Andrew: Not India. I like Laos, we did not know much about this country before we arrived. The friendliness of the people blew me away, it was really unexpected and that's what sticks in my mind. Plus Beer Lao rules!

What did you get out of your trip as a whole?
If you're expecting a spiritual touchy feely answer you can forget it! We learnt that as a couple we can get on even in the most stressful circumstances. We learnt patience, not to judge using western ways as the control, to budget even down to the last dollar. We travelled like we went to work. Each day was organised and a budget was set. We work well as a team and we will definitely travel long term together again.

Which leads us to - did we have lots of arguments?
Plenty! But we learnt to ignore each others insults and below the belt blows as we knew that we didn't mean them in the heat of the moment.

Would we do it again?
Certainly, watch this space. We think next time that we would not do a continent in such depth over 6 months. After a while countries started to blend a little into one another. Next time we will travel across more continents and pick out just a few places to visit.

Did we make our budget?
Yes!!! But we hadn't saved up enough before we went away! We were $2000 down at the start and at the end we were short of $1500. So we saved $500 overall.
